No. 26: Guest Lesson, Janet Feder teaches Prepared Guitar
I am ecstatic to have Janet Feder contribute a lesson to this site as she is a true innovator. Janet combines the best of classical guitar and the avant-garde with the hidden powers of a singer-songwriter, making her compositions incredibly dynamic yet also immediately accessible. In this lesson Janet gives in-depth explanations of several of her guitar preparations and follows the lesson with a performance of her composition “I Hear Voices”, which, as radical as it is, is one of her more conventional pieces. I recommend all of Janet’s recordings and specifically her pieces “Shouting Valley” and “Ready Guitar”.
